Aqua Narrowboats welcome everyone to join them at the Crick Boat Show, Saturday 27th – Monday 29th May 2017, 10am – 6pm, at stand F38. You are invited to explore recently built bespoke boat All You Need Is Love, a stunning 60ft semi-cruiser stern. All You Need Is Love is a wonderful blend of contemporary and traditional: solid oak flooring, stainless steel radiators, double-glazed portholes and granite work surfaces. Steelwork blasted and two-pack epoxy spray-painted for a superb gloss finish.

Crick Boat Show is not only a brilliantly informative weekend for ‘boaty-people’ but an interesting and fun trip for all. From fairground rides for children (and adults) to live music and a variety of food stalls, Crick Boat Show offers entertainment for everyone.

Not only was 2016 the busiest year yet – 26,884 people visited over the three days, it was also an immensely successful year for Aqua Narrowboats. Showing off our latest boat build – Dolly Blue – on stand F38 were MD Justin and owners-come-designers Glynis and Michael; helped along by other members of the Aqua Narrowboat team.

Dolly Blue, a 60ft semi-cruiser, proved a popular destination with appointments being snapped up as soon as the gates opened on Saturday. With an elegant design based around the reliable Colecraft shell Dolly Blue is the epitome of ‘luxury apartment living’, with a difference.

As with traditional narrowboat interiors she is fitted out exclusively with ash and oak. However, the twist is the neutral staining of the wood, which makes her really stand out. With the grain of the wood retaining the traditional character the grey-blue colour scheme and clever lighting ensures the space is bright and airy.

Over the weekend Dolly Blue received many complements; from the owner’s eye for design to the quality craftsmanship of the Aqua Narrowboat team, those that worked on Dolly Blue have many reasons to be proud of their accomplishments.

Those who missed out on viewing Dolly Blue were invited by Mel and Pete to their narrowboat, Inkling. Great supporters of Aqua Narrowboats, this lively couple have had two bespoke builds from Aqua. At 69ft Inkling offers extended living space and extra room for guests. Mel and Pete, along with their two dogs, welcomed those walking along the tow path in for a tour. With a more traditional feel Inkling complemented Dolly Blue’s contemporary style by allowing visitors at Crick Boat Show to see the broad potential of narrowboat design and the wide range of skills exhibited by the Aqua boat-build team. Overall, Crick Boat Show 2016 was a great success, even the weather behaved for the majority of the weekend.

Don’t forget to book your tickets to the 2017 Crick Boat Show, we look forward to seeing you there!
