Justin is owner, designer, sales manager, managing director and goffa!! He has built all the boats for Aqua Narrowboat Hire and carries all that experience to the new boat building business. Justin manages the day to day running of the business and you will usually find him at the workshop 7 days a week. Justin is currently developing his training needs in marketing and has been quick to learn lean manufacturing techniques. In his spare time he enjoys walking and cycling and spending days out with his family.

Stuart is our marine engineer with many years experience, plus he lives aboard his own boat so has great narrowboat understanding and is gifted at solving any boating problem. He is qualified in NVQ 1 & 2 in engineering and aims to work towards his NVQ 3 in performance management. Stuart is a valued member of staff and will have your engine humming in no time!! Along with all our staff Stuart has completed training in customer services. In his spare time Stuart likes model train and any remote controlled gadgets.

Jordan is very experienced in boat building having dedicated his career to this profession for the last 6 years following the completion of his apprenticeship gaining NVQ 1,2 and 3 in Furniture making. Jordan is a very talented cabinet maker and has outstanding speed and skill, paying attention to detail and design. He is currently training in customer services and will be doing further advanced woodwork courses throughout the year. In his spare time Jordan likes to go on haunted trails and hand crafting guitars.

Jane is the other half of the partnership for the business and prefers to work behind the scenes looking after the book-keeping, marketing, writing polices & strategies, addressing the training needs and making links with other local companies. Jane is currently developing her training needs in marketing and accountancy and manages to juggle this with a part time job at the NHS and 3 children. In her spare time she likes swimming, walking, visiting tea rooms, arts festivals and baking mainly anything that she can do with her children, so everyone can join in. Also keep an eye on the little garden behind the workshop, Jane is planning an allotment there to keep everyone healthy!!

Having established Aqua Narrowboat Hire in 2004, we were fortunate to have the opportunity to lease a workshop at the brand new Mercia Marina in our home village of Willington, which opened in September 2008. This has given us the capability to expand our business to offer boat building, repairs, painting and boat shares alongside our hire company. We have a team of enthusiastic and dedicated boat builders that will continue to grow over the next few years. We are committed to being a learning organisation and training young talent so all of our staff undergo training in their area of expertise on a regular basis and we intend to take on a flow of apprentices to strengthen the skills within our industry.
