Narrowboat Hire Handover Staff (meet, greet & train)

What are we looking for?

Aqua Narrowboats are looking for hand over staff that can work Saturday and/or Tuesday usually 9am til 4pm, times may vary depending on demand and the hirers experience levels. Your role will be to prepare the exterior of the narrowboat such as: exterior polish, check inventory/ damage and maintenance needed, pump out and refuel; meet and greet customers on arrival of their holiday including a maintenance advice session; narrowboat tuition including steering, reversing, turning, mooring and locks. Experience of narrowboat handling is essential , good customer service and a friendly and outgoing nature is also required. Full training will be given but you must have narrowboat handling experience (applicants without this experience will be rejected automatically). If you have completed the RYA Inland Waterways Helmsman Course, this would be an advantage, however if not, we will pay for you to take the course ensuring you are fully confident.

Where you will work

This season we have 6 hire boats in the fleet, all based at Barton Turns Marina DE13 8DZ. You would be part of a busy team consisting of a team manager (usually a marine engineer), handover staff (exterior maintenance, meet, greet & train) and housekeeping staff (interior cleaning).

Housekeeping Supervisor

What are we looking for?

Aqua Narrowboats are looking for a housekeeping supervisor that can work Saturday and Tuesday usually 8.30am til 12.30pm ish, (times may vary depending on demand) plus 2 other mornings 8.00am to 10.00am.

Your role will be to supervise the cleaning and housekeeping of narrowboats that have been used for holidays from March to October. To supervise the cleaning and housekeeping of towels, mattress protectors inhouse, and checking quality of laundry that is sent externally. To be wholly responsible for preparing the laundry bags and equipment needed for each hire boat, checking & replacing inventory, and working effectively with the rest of the busy handover team. In addition, you will also supervise the cleaning and housekeeping of the factory at Foston, ensuring all hire boat items and cleaning products are in stock, and the showroom and communal area are thoroughly clean.

Where you will work
